Gota de Leche continues its vision-mission of providing nutritional support to kids and moms in need by partnering with like-minded groups and institutions. Last November 7, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Gota and Igorota Foundation Inc, a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization established in recognition of the right and responsibility of women to fully develop their God-given potentials.

Igorota Foundation shares Gota’s vision via a holistic development for self-sustaining communities by empowering women through transformative trainings, education, advocacy, and organizing. They hold offices in Kibungan, Benguet, headed by Executive Officer Ms. Rosella Camte-Bahni.

Gota de Leche then went on a site visit to Kibungan, Benguet last November 10-11, to spread the milk of human kindness to around 40 day care children as beneficiaries.

Stop Hunger Now, Philippines, a staunch partner of Gota, and Hersheys Philippines pledged support the First 1,000 Days program of Gota de Leche. Their lovingly packed fortified rice meals have become part and parcel of the feeding program aimed for pregnant and lactating women of Kibungan, Benguet. This initiative will help 21 breastfeeding mothers and four pregnant mothers.

The local LGU of Kibungan rose to the occasion by organizing the event and getting everything ready even before the Gota de Leche team arrived. Volunteer nurses were on hand to give the mothers and children a check-up, while other volunteers helped distribute and prepare the meal packs for the beneficiaries.

Thank you, Igorota Foundation! Here’s to a long and healthy partnership, and may your tribe increase!
