CAN BOYS BE GIRLS: Let’s talk about Sex, Gender and the Rights of Filipino Women seminar
This discussion takes off from an issue raised in the latest report of the United Nations Rapporteur on Violence against Women — i.e. the intrusion of males who identify as females in female only sports categories and space – and hopes to present the impact that Gender Identity will have on the health and safety of women and girls in other aspects of life.
Speakers are Ms. Sylvia Estrada Claudio, MD, PHD, a Medical Doctor and Professor of the UP College of Social Work and Development, Atty. Maria Lulu G. Reyes, a feminist Professor of Law from the Saint Louis University in Baguio, Ms. Elizabeth Enriquez, PhD, Professor Emeritus of the UP College of Mass Communications. Responders on the event are Ms. Ani Karina De Leon-Brown, Triathlon National Coach and TOWNS Awardee for Sports, and Ms. Francesca Tan, a Gen Z writer and online feminist activist.
Other professionals, educators and women’s rights actors are also present and provided their brief insights and advices.
